Selection process | Based on the criteria, the advisors of the Whanau Poly Club will nominate members to be considered for the scholarship. They will send the names of those nominated and a copy of their essays to the Washington Scholarship Committee. That committee will then select the recipient and an alternate. |
About | Whanau Poly Club is one of the largest and most influential student clubs at Washington High School. Their Mission is to empower and engage Asian Pacific Islander youth within a western educational paradigm (public schools) through a cultural lens by using cultural dialogue and engagement strategies. The club continues to see the increasing number of students that attend every year, and would like to continue to provide that safe place and educational environment for them. To take the next step in helping their current and future students achieve goals, they have been given an opportunity create a scholarship with donations and funds provided by school staff members and friends. |
